TO COMPLETE YOUR STAR LEVEL: MANDATORY EXERCISE ON APRIL 28TH ON NOSE HILL!

ONE MISSION; TWO OBJECTIVES!

2137 will perform a Community Service mission on Nose Hill this coming Saturday 28 April 2018.
This is a Mandatory exercise for all. The morning phase is exclusively for Silver Stars in preparation for the Expedition.

What : Maps, Navigation and GPS
Where: Nose Hill Parking (Edgemont Blvd.)
Why: This is a review of all your Navigation skills and practice with GPS
How: 
 
GREEN, RED, GOLD AND MASTER CADETS:

When : 1200 to 1700 - Operation Hill 114W
What : Park cleaning; cleaning packages will be available on site.
Where: Nose Hill Parking (Edgemont Blvd.)
Why: This is your final Community Service of the year for your training level.

PIPES AND DRUMS CLINIC THIS UPCOMING SUNDAY 22 APRIL

This activity if for any cadets that are currently training on bagpipes and drums, from beginner to advanced! C'mon down and receive some spectacular training this upcoming Sunday at the #275 Forest Lawn legion from 0830 to 1645Hrs!

Address for the #275 Royal Canadian Legion in Forest Lawn is 755 40 St SE (East of 36th St and south of Memorial Drive/Marlborough Mall) 

Dress: Civilian Attire 

Bring: Instruments, Maintenance items and music books (if you have them) 

The aim of this clinic is to develop youth in musicianship and increase self-confidence & self-discipline through developing skills in Pipes and Drums music repertoire/technique. It is further intended to promote and maintain enthusiasm towards pipes and drums activities outside of what our respective organization has to offer. This will aid in the success of each respective your musicality and level testing requirements within our program and provide you with tools to be successful in the civilian pipes and drums settings at various competitions, band workshops and performances.

This training will be led by highly qualified and experienced instructors from the Rocky Mountain Pipe Band (Grade 2 North American Champions), the highly known Regimental Pipes and Drums of the Calgary Highlanders, along with support from experienced CIC officers within the Pipes and Drums setting. 

We kindly ask that you sign up with Capt Concannon if you wish to attend NLT  0800 Saturday morning (21 April 18) as food and refreshments will be provided by our sponsoring committee for this event and we would like to ensure we have a solid classroom size to instructor ratio.

Please be reminded that the dress for this activity is appropriate civilian attire and instruments and maintenance items must be brought by each participant. Should you require clarification on anything further, please do not hesitate to contact me at the number listed below or this email address.

April CO's Parade! PARENTS, FRIENDS AND FUTURE CADETS, PLEASE JOIN US!

This month's Commanding Officer's Parade will, again, be one to remember! And a good time to take pictures! Bring your friends as we are starting the Pre-registration of for Training Year 2018-2019. Our Training Year will start very quick in September and they want to make sure they will be part of every amazing activity we are planning for you!

Our Parade performance is constantly approaching perfection and, on top of that, we have several reasons to celebrate!

The results of our Glengarry Merit Night will be announced with the award of the Glens to the Cadets who qualified;

We will also recognize the performances of our competing teams;

And more exciting announcements!

Parents and friends, please join us at 20:15 this Thursday!

RESPONSES TO YOUR EXPEDITION AND YOUR SUMMER TRAINING OFFERS!!!

Please bring back your signed response to your Summer Training Offers if you received one this Thursday (19 April) or next Thursday (26 April) at the latest!

If you are a Silver Star, you must also respond with your signed response to the offer to participate to the Silver Star Expedition this Thursday (19 April).

****NOTICE**** To All cadets that do not have a uniform.

****** To all cadets that either have not been sized for a cadet uniform or have not received their uniform and are still wearing civillain white shirt and black pants. *****

As per the direction of the CO, all cadets will be in an authorized cadet uniform during parade nights. If there are cadets that do not have a full cadet uniform, but have cadet FTUs, FTUs shall be worn in place of the white shirt and black pants.

To accomplish this directive, we will have stores open on Monday 16 Apr 18, from 1830 to 2030 for sizing and issue of kit, if in stock.  If cadets are unable to attend the Monday evening fitting, identify yourself to your chain of command on Thursday. You will be sized or issued kit at the earliest possible time.
