The following cadets have travel orders in our system.  You either would've received them at the summer training briefing held at the beginning of June or received via email today (26 Jun).  If you are going to summer camp and HAVE NOT received your travel orders, first, check your email (or junk email in case it was flagged as inappropriate).  If you still do not have it, please contact Maj Sun and she can double-check for you.  Also ensure the dates of travel match the dates of your course.  if they do not match, please let Maj Sun know immediately so that it can get fixed.  As always, any questions, please contact Maj Sun.

MORE OPPORTUNITIES TO PARTICIPATE IN THE STAMPEDE AND TO GET OUR CORPS NAME OUT THERE!!!!

Please see the message below for additional opportunities to participate in the Stampede and to get our corps name and the cadet program out to more youth and parents in the city!  If you are interested in helping out, please send an email to Maj Sun:  julie.sc.sun@gmail.com by 25 Jun 2017.

The Calgary Stampede has requested Cadet participation for the following 2 activities this year. This is an excellent opportunity for us to gain invaluable exposure for our program, on an international stage:

1.       150 Cadet participants for the Stampede Parade 7 July 2017 to act as Pacers. We are seeking Cadets from all three elements, including Navy League Cadets.

As of right now we can provide the following details:

On Thursday 6 July 2017 there is a BBQ for all participants from 1700-2100 wherein final details/discussion will occur on how the parade will unfold, including Cadet duties as Pacers.

On Friday 7 July 2017 breakfast will start at 0600, and Pacers need to be in place NLT 0715 hrs. The end timing for this activity is to be determined.

Unit CO’s - what we need from you: canvass your units and identify interested Cadets. Additional info re: end timing for the parade will be provided once known, but plan on the entire morning of that day. We also require Officers and screened Adults to assist in supervision during the parade/along the parade route.

Diary Date for Unit CO’s to identify interested Cadets, Officers and screened Adults at the unit level is NLT 0800 Monday 26 June 2017.  We will provide further information on how units can forward participant names to us shortly.

2.       The Calgary Stampede has requested 100 Cadet participants for the Stampede Grand Stand show on Tuesday 11 July 2017 to hand out Canada Flags in honour of Canada’s 150th Birthday. We are seeking Cadets from all three elements, including Navy League Cadets.

As of right now we can provide the following details:

In honour of Canada’s 150th birthday, the Calgary Stampede will be handing out 20,000 paper flags on Tuesday 11 July 2017 for the Grandstand afternoon show (1200-1330 hrs) and 20,000 flags for the Grandstand evening show 1900-2030 hrs). They are hoping to get 50 cadets for both shows each.  Each participant and Adult Supervisor will get a park admission pass to get on the grounds.
