ADDITIONAL NOTE REGARDING OUR FUNDRAISING EFFORTS

Hello Parents and Cadets!

As you are aware, the Corps has been given the opportunity to run a BBQ at all home Stampeders’ games this season.  This opportunity brought in over $10,000 last year alone and, in order to maintain it, we need to provide a minimum of 12 volunteers per home game!  The money earned goes back directly to our corps and all activities that we want to run.

Some examples of where we use the funds:
Want to wear highland kit??  This costs over $1,000 per uniform, which the PAC pays for NOT DND!!

Want to play in the band? Bagpipes run between $1,200-$1,600.  Drums run in the $1,000 range.  Not to mention all the fantastic instructors the PAC pays for monthly!!
What about FTX’s?? Did you know that only two FTX’s a year are covered by DND?? That means if you want to take part in anything extra, the PAC is paying for it! If you want to see more activities in the year, we need your help to make it happen!! Wouldn’t it be great to bring back more FTX’s – like the solo? How about Hunter’s Ed? The PAL course?
And, those mess and awards dinners that are so much fun!? Did you know each  costs the PAC around $4,000 to $5,000 per event?!

Thinking you or your cadet wants to go on the next Battlefield Trip?  Start working off the cost now!

Cadets, if you are 15 years and older you are not only able to work the games but strongly encouraged to!! Not only will you be contributing to making more activities available in the corps, you’ll also be gaining valuable experience you can use on your resume outside of cadets.  If you are 18 years or older you are required to have ProServe. You can obtain this certification for free and it is also useable outside of the Stamps games.  The hours are also transferrable to the Duke of Edinburgh award and NSE points.
Parents, unlike the majority of youth programs, cadets has no registration fees. But, as you know, nothing is free.  In this case we aren’t asking for money. We are asking for your time!

There are a few requirements to make this happen:
1. You have to have attended the mandatory training session in order to work the games! So far the only training session scheduled for this season is on Tuesday, June 20th at 5pm at the Saddledome. Please sign up here:  http://signup.com/go/UEwVAvf
2. If you are 18 years or older you must have valid ProServe certification.
3.  Here is the link to sign up for the games:  http://signup.com/go/SAYKkwv

Thank you to everyone who has already signed up!  You are making a DIRECT and POSITIVE impact on the program and we appreciate you volunteering your time!!
